Red Tag Days have been running for four years now, and provide an all inclusive 'learn to fish' day out on one of the South West Lakes Trust venues.
They are particularly suitable for beginners and improvers, and will take you through casting mechanics, leaders, flies, knots, hooking, playing and landing a fish, a 1 fish ticket and even includes the EA rod licence for the day, courtesy of the Angling Trust. A fly dressing demonstration also shows you how the flies are actually created.
What to bring? - Any fly tackle you may have, warm clothes, wellies or waders, covid ppe, picnic chair, and your food and drink. I will supply the rest.
Covid-19 really messed up the schedule last year.
The first six dates from April to July were cancelled.
We finally got underway with an evening event at Burrator on 1st August which was fully subscribed.
We were able to continue with a stream of fully booked events, right up until the next lockdown hit on 5th November.
For 2021, we began with a weekend at Burrator on 17 and 18 April.
Next scheduled event:
Sat 12th September at Fernworthy Reservoir, 10am - 4pm
If you or a group of friends have suggestions to add future dates for courses in late 2020, and into 2021, or indeed 1:1 lessons or guiding, please use the form below.
